Anjeka6164A wetting and dispersing additive for industrial coatings and pigment concentrates

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

ANJEKA-6164A is a wetting and dispersing agent used in solvent based automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and pigment concentrates. Especially suitable for stabilizing ultra-fine carbon black and organic pigments, especially two-component polyurethane and baking systems, which can significantly reduce the viscosity of grinding materials.

STORAGE and TRANSPORT

Layering or turbidity may occur at temperatures below 0°C. Heat to 20°C and mix thoroughly.

Storage time is not recommended to exceed 12 months.

 

SPECIAL NOTES

The surface treatment of certain organic pigments can have a negative impact on the effectiveness of the wetting and dispersing agent. In this case, untreated pigments of the same type can be tried. When used for coil coatings, the interaction between the cationic additive and the acid catalyst must be considered. Free acids or epoxy blocked acids are more suitable than amine blocked acids.

Features and Benefits:

The additive unflocates and stabilizes the pigment by spatial site resistance.Anjeka-6164 provides the same charge to the pigment particles. The resulting repulsive and spatial stabilization prevents possible co-flocculation and prevents floating and blooming in multi-color systems. The result is an increase in gloss, color strength, transparency and hiding power, as well as a reduction in milling viscosity.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS

The amount of additives (in purchased form) is based on the pigment:

Titanium dioxide: 5%-6%

Inorganic pigments: 10%-15

Organic pigments: 30%-80

Carbon black: 70%-140

The above data are empirical and the optimum dosage should be determined through a series of tests.

 

INCORPORATION AND PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

For optimum performance, add the additives to the abrasive before adding the pigments. Pre-mix the resin and solvent components of the abrasive and add the additives slowly with stirring. Do not add pigments until the additives are well mixed.
